As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work closely with our engineering and product teams to build, improve, maintain, and scale web and mobile applications. You'll get hands-on exposure to the full software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and making technical decisions to writing code, testing, deploying, and continuously improving products.
We expect engineers at Infeniti to develop ownership, product knowledge, and product intuition alongside their technical skills. You should understand not only how something works, but also why it exists, who uses it, and how your work contributes to the overall product and business.
What You'll Do
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain web and mobile software applications.
- Work with senior engineers and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into reliable technical solutions.
- Take ownership of assigned features and follow them through from development to deployment and improvement.
- Learn the product, its users, workflows, and business objectives rather than treating tasks as isolated tickets.
- Develop product intuition by understanding how technical decisions affect usability, performance, scalability, and the overall user experience.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following established engineering practices.
- Build responsive and accessible interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
- Work with modern frontend patterns and tools including React Router, TanStack Query, and the broader TanStack ecosystem.
- Build and integrate APIs and backend services using Node.js.
- Work with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and understand how application code interacts with data.
- Use tools such as Orval for typed API clients and integrate generated API definitions into frontend applications.
- Work with component libraries and UI systems such as shadcn/ui to build consistent, reusable interfaces.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Investigate and resolve bugs and production issues.
- Understand asynchronous JavaScript, including Promises, async/await, the event loop, and non-blocking I/O.
- Work with APIs, databases, third-party services, and other components required to build modern software products.
- Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and software development practices.
- Contribute to improving engineering processes, documentation, code quality, and product reliability.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, Promises, async/await, closures, and the event loop.
- Good understanding of HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts and modern frontend practices.
- Experience with or strong foundational knowledge of React and component-based UI development.
- Familiarity with Next.js and modern React application architecture.
- Understanding of routing concepts and familiarity with tools such as React Router.
- Understanding of data fetching and server-state management, with exposure to TanStack Query or similar tools.
- Familiarity with the TanStack ecosystem is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Node.js and backend development.
- Understanding of REST APIs and how frontend applications communicate with backend services.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Exposure to tools such as Orval, OpenAPI-generated clients, or similar API development tooling is a plus.
- Familiarity with component libraries such as shadcn/ui is a plus.
- Ability to understand existing codebases and contribute to production software.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn beyond assigned tasks.
- A mindset of ownership and responsibility for the quality of your work.
- Interest in understanding products, users, and business problems, not just technical implementation.
Technical Expertise
As an engineer at Infeniti, you'll work with a modern TypeScript and JavaScript-based stack across frontend and backend applications.
Our engineering environment includes technologies such as:
Frontend: React, Next.js, React Router, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, shadcn/ui
Data & State: TanStack Query and the broader TanStack ecosystem
Backend: Node.js, REST APIs
Database: PostgreSQL
API Tooling: OpenAPI, Orval, generated API clients
Engineering: Git, modern development workflows, testing, debugging, code reviews, and production deployments
You don't need to know every technology on day one. What matters is having strong fundamentals and the ability to learn and work effectively within an evolving technical stack.
Product Mindset
At Infeniti, we believe good engineers should have product intuition.
You won't always be given every answer in a ticket. We expect you to ask questions, understand the context behind a requirement, identify potential problems, and think about how a feature will actually be used.
You will gradually be expected to move from:
"I completed the task."
to:
"I understand what we're building, why we're building it, and I can help make it better."
Why Join Infeniti?
You'll work on real software products used by real businesses, while gaining exposure to the complete product development lifecycle. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, work with a modern software stack, contribute to meaningful features, and grow from executing tasks to taking genuine ownership of software.
